Medical Logo Set

final Logos

Background Information

As an iconic representation, a logo is a symbol that is often used to represent a company or organization. The process of creating a logo can vary greatly, but in this case the logos were created using image collections that were gathered for being representative of the fields that the logos were to symbolize. From there, black and white concept sketches of the logos were created in Photoshop. Once the final logo concept was chosen, the sketch was taken into Illustrator for final rendering and coloring.

Project Goals

The focus of this project was to create a set of three logos representing three different branches of medicine. The logos needed to match cohesively in appearance and design but still be representative of their separate branches. For the final product, the logos needed to be in a vector-based format, preferably in an Adobe Illustrator file.

The main challenge of this project was how to graphically portray each branch of medicine as minimalistically as possible while still unifying each design. After many iterations of the sketches and designs, a similar art style and color composition were used to unify the logos. The image concepts were narrowed down based on how well they could iconically represent each field of medicine without any supporting text labels. The final concepts were also chosen based on how well the logos could retain their appearance when shrunken down in size since logos tend to appear in a variety of sizes based on where they are used.
